Queen Elizabeth, Buhari, Others To Attend Ogunwusi's Coronation


The coronation and presentation of staff to Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11 is set to happen on Monday and President Buhari and his vice, Prof. Osibanjo are to lead the government delegation to the ceremony. The Queen of England is expected to make an appearance along with several state governors, ministers and monarchs.


At a press conference yesterday at the official palace of the Ooni, his eldest brother, Prince Adegboyega Ogunwusi stated that the coronation arrangements was at top gear and revealed the top priorities the Ooni has mapped out for the city of Ile-Ife.

They include electrification of the town, establishment of a furniture factory, a football academy, rebranding of the city to make it a tourist destination and development of a 200 bedroom Ife Grand Resort and Leisure.

Other upcoming plans to lift Ile-Ife are setting up of an asphalt plant, a national archive library, expansion and refurbishing of the palace and rebranding of Mokuro Water Factory.

He said the monarch who had already donated about 50 transformers to various communities in Ife also planned to purchase additional 30 to boost electricity supply in the town.
