BMW unveils incredible driverless shapeshifting car of the future

These are the first pictures of BMW’s latest concept car, the Vision Next 100, which was unveiled at celebration marking the motoring firm’s 100th anniversary. It is the German car manufacturer’s image of how motoring will look in the future. The incredible car features a shapeshifting interior which switches between “Boost” and “Ease” modes.

“In Boost the entire vehicle focuses on the driver, offering the support needed to maximize the driving experience, for instance by indicating the ideal driving line, steering point and speed,” BMW wrote:

“Ease mode sees the interior transform: the steering wheel and center console retract; the headrests turn to the side, and the seats and door trim merge to form a single unit so that the driver and front-seat passenger can turn towards each other.”      The concept car 'Vision Next 100' of German automaker BMW is presented during the celebration marking the 100th anniversary of BMW in Munich, Germany

The car also comes with a bizarre dashboard which uses 800 moving triangles to convey information to the driver.

“The triangles work in much the same way as a flock of birds in controlled flight, their coordinated movements acting as signals that are easily comprehensible to those inside the car,” BMW continued.
